We are not fond of Mondays here at Best Bets Central. The anti-anticipation starts on a Sunday evening and hits overdrive with the Monday a.m. alarm. But we are going to try something new by infusing the grumpy start to our week with dynamite funk through the conduit that is Antone’s Super Soul Monday. Flyjack, “Austin’s premier purveyors of righteous rhythms,” will be the medium that delivers us from crankiness. “Funkier than a sock with a hole!” “A ‘72 Eldorado on high octane!” We have a feeling this groovy eight-piece will be able to put us in a superbad funk, which is so much better than the just plain bad funk we’re usually in about this time.
