Check out a longtime Austin favorite, David Garza, tonight at the Continental Club. First playing at the Deep Ellum bars in downtown Dallas before the age of 18, the Texas native high-tailed it to Austin in 1989, attending the University of Texas on a classical guitar scholarship. There, he and other students formed the acoustic group Twang Twang Shock-A-Boom. The bohemian dilettante soon dropped out and went solo. With passionate live performances and unflinching dedication to his music, Garza has garnered comparisons to Jeff Buckley and Robert Plant.
