Celebrate the Fourth Of July with three of the things that make America the greatest nation on earth—barbecue, beer, and punk rock—at this two-stage Red 7 scream-a-thon. Headlining the patio, The Casualties play straightforward street punk that covers the genre’s usual themes, as evidenced by song titles from 2006’s Under Attack: “System Failed Us Again,” “Social Outcast,” “In It For Life,” etc. Tourmate Time Again cites Rancid as a primary influence, which is obvious just seconds into the group’s 2006 debut full-length, The Stories Are True—which can’t go long without mentioning riots, police, or junkies—and its new road-tested follow-up, Darker Days. Austin’s Krum Bums lift the torch for the sweet land of liberty spikes on the inside stage.
