Candye Kane Benefit: SoCal’s Candye Kane has been a local favorite since she brought her brassy barroom blues to Austin in the early 1990s, but recent surgery for pancreatic cancer is keeping her sidelined. Coming to her rescue are longtime friends the Fabulous Thunderbirds with roots-rockabilly queen Rosie Flores, master Texas songwriter Billy Joe Shaver, and high-kickin’ Paula Nelson.
