AA-S Best Bet – Remembering Clifford Antone:
Friday marks the second anniversary of the death of one of Austin’s most prominent music figures and social activists: Clifford Antone. Clifford Antone is the namesake and founder of the internationally known nightclub Antone’s, which is readily regarded as the home of Austin’s blues scene. Clifford grew up in Port Arthur and relocated to Austin in the late ‘60s to attend UT, later opening Antone’s in an old furniture warehouse in 1975.
