The Breeders take their time, as witnessed by the three LPs Dayton, Ohio, sisters Kim and Kelley Deal have released since 1988. The title of fourth LP Mountain Battles (4AD) no doubt sprung partly from Kim’s stints in rehab and 2004’s Pixies reunion, I-saw-the-light moments rubbing up against Kim’s balmy purr for a mellow patchwork.
