Funk is the type of music that you can hear around the world, but few people alive today can claim to do it nearly as well as Maceo Parker does. A widely recognized master of modern funk, Parker sharpened his saxophone skills in the 60's in James Brown's band. He has gone on to release seven solo records including the latest album Roots & Grooves, a tribute to Ray Charles. Parker reportedly plays 250 tour dates per year, and his average time on stage is more than two and a half hours.
