Emmylou Harris proves on her latest release (2008's "All I Intended to Be") that she still has one of the best voices in the business. Harris sings a bittersweet mixture of original material and covers Patty Griffin's "Moon Song," Tracy Chapman's "All That You Have Is Your Soul", and also recruits Dolly Parton and Vince Gill for backing vocals. Harris will lead her five-piece Red Dirt Band through a 22-song set that beautifully touches on multiple corners of American music. Soulful Americana songwriter, singer, and producer Buddy Miller will open with mixed honky tonk and heartfelt balladry.

This year Emmylou Harris was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, an overdue honor for one of the most distinctive and pure voices in music. Her excellent new album, All I Intended to Be, delicately weaves meditations on memory and mortality, retracing her past equally in sound as in theme by reuniting with original producer Brian Ahern. Guitar master and recently named No Depression “artist of the decade” Buddy Miller opens. – Doug Freemanmore at austinchronicle.com
