Voight, in his first major role, is Joe Buck, a studly hayseed who comes to New York with the idea of becoming a male hustler. He develops an unlikely friendship with a physically and mentally challenged street person, Ratso Rizzo (Hoffman). Originally rated "X" (the "NC-17" of the '60s) and highly controversial, but definitely an "R" by today's standards. Funny, insightful, and ultimately devastating. New print!
