Indie / Powerpop / Experimental Your Kisses Cause Crashes (Austin, Texas) had its genesis in 2003 as a two-piece experimental act consisting of Michelle Jones and Andy Kaminski. The two spent the summer writing and recording various low-fi songs on 4 tracks. A sudden relocation left the progress on a plateau for five years, but in April 2008 the two paired up again to give new life to the old arrangements and promote their creation as a serious act. With the additions of Richard Carta on drums and Michael Tucker on bass, YKCC evolved into a complete band with an epic atmosphere of powerful and dream-like melodic productions comparable to Built to Spill, Grandaddy, and Band of Horses. The group released demo Whatev (Non-signed, 2008), a radiant movement of layered keyboards, synthesizers, guitars, and vigorous percussion to burst onto the Austin scene (getting random airplay on supporting independent local radio stations), playing numerous stages downtown and on SoCo and sharing billing with many of its favorite local and national touring acts, including The Black Angels, Johnny Gobbs, Mostly Bears, and The Seas.
