We hit the sunset’s walls with our purple eyes, Darting between conversations and weaving savage lies, We swam through fog on roads long gone, And like the sleeping earth we met the dawn, The arms of the present never found us here, Through half completed mirrors and wild frontier, We dissolved in clouds of color as the ground fell away, And I wonder why the sounds of change led us astray, All noise was blinded by our stereotypes, Streams and rivers that never lived up to the hype, The destruction of memory was met with stoic face, But every day lost understood its cemented place, We heard of tired designs that never appeared, And shrank from pain as our wandering lives neared, Our eyes held the secret to life’s admiration, The color of childhood could be our salvation. So, anyway, The Hydmen are a young band out of the Hyde Park Neighborhood in Central Austin, TX (that's how we came up with the name).
