Molded in a small room in the bowels of south Austin, Eagle Claw decided to start making music in the summer of '07. After playing in many successful un-named bands, bassist Luther Smalls, guitarist Matt Rade, and drummer Bart Butler set out to create music they actually liked. Boasting an insane amount of low-end and fuzz, mixed with pounding, relentless rhythms, the music is often referred to as "MEGA-BIG" and Eagle Claw lives up to that reference, especially seeing them live since they have yet to record an actual album. The Claw is currently an instrumental band with no vocals, which leaves room in the mind for the seizure-inducing projected visuals they are known for throwing down at live shows, courtesy of part-time bandmate RECSPEC. At times the sound is fast paced, angular and shifting in different time signatures, and at times it moves in a straight, slow chug. Either way it will pound you 'til you are hurting inside.
