Brazos is a band based out of Austin, TX. Brazos is Martin Crane, Nathan Stein, Paul Price, and Esteban Cruz. Brazos played once in May of 2006, once in Oct of 2006, and, starting May of 2007, it plays a lot. The songs above were written and recorded in one weekend (that is, June 7, 2007). They are a temporary fix for an EP that's in the final stages of getting out. Brazos is a part of a larger group of people. Those people are called The Wheel Collective. It used to be bigger, called the Tonewheel Collective. We used to play every other Thursday with one another at this bar in Austin called Beerland. There was a bunch of folks playing. One week, the aforementioned folks decided to play as a band, and that eventually was Brazos. Now things have changed, and some of those same folks have started a record label called Autobus and Brazos is a part of that, too.

If anyone defined the Austin scene in 2007, it was the breakout bookers of Transmission Entertainment, responsible for most of the year’s buzziest shows. (Of course, we’d like to think The Onion had its own little impact as well.)
