About Austin Metamorphosis Dance Ensemble Austin Metamorphosis Dance Ensemble (AMDE) is a non-profit contemporary dance company aimed at providing an educational experience for the younger dancer and providing dance in a format that is accessible to all audiences. AMDE is comprised of an adult professional company and a youth company – AMDE II. AMDE was created this year by the merger of two long standing dance companies in Austin – Metamorphosis Dance Ensemble and Austin Dance Ensemble. AMDE is currently under the Artistic Direction of Arletta Howard-Logan, Melanie Kregel and Erin Mayo. AMDE’s Executive Director is Emily Torgerson. This season the company is slated to present four major productions. In November, Ms. Logan will direct an AMDE and AMDE II combined production of "A Fairy Tale Evening" and other original works. AMDE II will dazzle us with their exceptional talent this coming January with Ms. Kregel's production, " The Gallery" which will bring to life masterpieces by Picasso, Kandinsky, and Dali, to name a few. In March 2007, Ms. Mayo and Ms. Torgerson will debut an original, full-length work, "The Hotel", starring the AMDE adult company. Their final production of the season will be Ms. Logan's annual "Ballet Under the Stars", a free performance at the Zilker Hillside Theatre.
